whitney
All of my close friends know I am a huge Whitney Houston fan. We just happen to share a birthday. I was at TARGET when I got a text that CNN was saying she had died in a Beverly Hills hotel. I responded "What!?!" As I was leaving the store my niece, sent me a text saying the same thing. Adding that it was not a joke. I called her and she gave me the details and we talked about her first concert. For a birthday present to myself, I got tickets to see Whitney live in concert, I also got tickets for my sister and my niece. My older sister won tickets off the radio a few days later. The concert and company were GREAT!! My niece asked if i was okay? If i was going to cry? I told her that I was okay and I was not going to cry, Whitney is in a better place and I have my own issues to deal with. In the background I heard Whitney singing "I Look To You", I told LaTria that I had listened to it that morning while reading something for English. I am shocked and saddened by Whitney death, I was just praying that there weren't any illegal drugs involved. My love for Whitney Houston had started to wain, its just natural progression. I feel. I was in high school when I first began hearing about her and I will admit I saw The Bodyguard four times at the show. I still have the items from the I Will Always Love You concert. I bought a poster and hung it up as soon as I got home. Its still there, after all these years. A friend sent me a link on FACEBOOK, written by Max Gordon, it was about Whitney and it was wonderful. I will miss Whitney, especially when our birthday rolls around, I remember the year my older sister got a birthday cake made with HAPPY BIRTHDAY ED and WHITNEY!! My parents taught us that death can be hard, but life goes on and the earth continues to rotate. I will always listen to her music and watch her movies, but she is in a better place.
